Our world is constantly changing—in many ways for the better and in many ways for the worse. Health and wellness are more of a priority today than ever before, especially with the exponential advancement of technology and what seems like the equally quick decline of much of our physical environment. Staying healthy seems to be one of the few things most people have in common, and we’re all trying to do so for as long as possible, with as little worry and expense as possible.

It’s a universal concern—and one I’ve grappled with personally since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis nearly two decades ago, at a time when I was also learning how to survive an abusive marriage. Thankfully, I left that toxic relationship with a renewed appreciation for the importance of mental wellness—and for the strength it takes to reclaim it.

That experience, coupled with my ongoing quest to stay strong and healthy, fuels my belief that health—physical, emotional, and mental—is among the most vital topics we can explore.
